Dustin Estridge is originally from Jackson County and knows bluegrass like the back of his hand.  With vocals clear as a bell and unique styling, he captures the heart of every song he sings.  He is influenced by Tony Rice and Josh Williams.  Dustin currently teaches in Mt. Sterling where he lives with his wife, Jina.  Come hear his nice bluegrass voice next time Hollow Wood is out!

Malachi Smith  is also from Jackson County, where he grew up around the sounds of bluegrass music from his grandmother and Father.  His Grandma exposed him to the sweet tunes of the old bluegrass standards along with her traditional, old time bluegrass vocals.  His father, a very accomplished banjo player, taught him the basics of bluegrass banjo.  With some study of his influences like Sammy Shelor, Bela Fleck, Steve Dilling, and Jimmy Mills, Malachi has derived a modern banjo sound with a mix of the traditional style of picking.  With good harmony vocals and driving banjo sound, he adds a fresh tone to Hollow Wood.
Ken Shackelford  was raised and now resides in Tyner, KY. He began playing bass when he was about 15, taught by his dad. Kenny then went on to study guitar, banjo, piano and mandolin. Kenny's favorite band is Blue Highway. His favorite banjo picker is Sammy Shelor. Favorite bassist is Mike Anglin. And, of course, favorite super-hero - Superman. Kenny appreciate several styles of music: bluegrass, gospel, classic rock, country, jazz, and blues. He's proud to make music with Dustin, Malachi, and Nathan.

Nathan Jones  has performed all different styles of music including rock, country, blues, and classical.  But he has found his true home with Bluegrass.  Nathan founded Hollow Wood in 2002 with his dad who grew up with bluegrass and gospel all around him and his brother, a great banjo and harmony singer.   Nathan counts his main influences as Sam Bush and Bill Monroe, loving the spirit and soul they put into their playing.  Nathan lives with his wife Laura and future Grammy winning daughter, Hadley Rose in Lexington, KY.
